Places to eat near our Coppergate House Business Centre
So, everyday around 12:30pm, I face the same dilemma,”What can I eat today?”
The great thing about Coppergate House, which is conveniently located between Liverpool Street, Shoreditch, Aldgate and Brick Lane, is that there are more than enough options when it comes to lunch time. To be fair, this can sometimes make the decision that little bit harder.
I have put a list together of 5 of the places I enjoy going to, both during my lunch hour and also, on occasion, in the evening after a long day in the office. I am avoiding mentioning any of the usual fast food chains as there is so much more than a Big Mac or a Vegan Sausage Roll.
1 – ROAST & TOAST 77 Wentworth Street, E1 7TD
Roast & Toast is in Aldgate, by the iconic Petticoat Lane Market and they specialize in Roast Chicken and have a salad bar with great variety. when you walk in, you really are spoilt for choice. The food is healthy, affordable and tastes amazing.
Check out their Facebook Page, and when you’re next in the neighborhood and feeling peckish, make sure you pop in!
2 – THE BREAKFAST CLUB 12-16 Artillery Lane, E1 7LS
As the name suggests, these guys do a mean Breakfast. You have the classic breakfast choices as well as pancakes, chorizo, waffles, vegetarian options and so much more.
As well as breakfast, they have a whole host of great dishes and meals to try, from Nachos & Wings to Sandwiches, Pancakes and Burgers. They have five amazing menus, check them out for yourselves!!!!!!
3 – PILPEL Old Spitalfields Market, London, E1 6EW
For all the Falafel lovers out there, this one’s for you.
Falafel and Guacamole, Falafel and Feta, Felafel and Aubergine and the list goes on…….
And if that wasn’t enough, Houmous and Aubergine, Houmous and Feta and so on!
Do you want to take it away in a container? Would you like it in pita bread? And that, is where the first 20 minutes of my lunch break goes, but at least I leave happy!
This is most definitely a much lighter lunch than I usually go for, but some days, you need this.
4 – CAFE CARIBBEAN Old Spitalfields Market, London E1 6EW
And now I’m in the mood for a good old Jamaican lunch.
Right around the corner from the Lenta Business Centre, you will find Cafe Caribbean in the Old Spitalfields Market. The cues speak for themselves, you wouldn’t wait if it wasn’t good, and believe me, IT’S GOOD!
The smells, the textures, the spices, the taste even down to presentation, these guys at Cafe Caribbean know they are doing the Jamaican cuisine proud.
When I tell people that I’m going there, they automatically assume Jerk Chicken, but Oxtail and Butter Bean is the one for me. In fact, I think I’m heading over there now………….

5 – POPPIE’S FISH & CHIPS 6-8 Hanbury Street, London E1 6QR
It maybe number 5 in this blog, but this is my number 1. For me, good old fashioned Fish & Chips is my all time favorite.
This is one place I just can’t get enough of. I’ve been a huge fan of Traditional Fish & Chips since I was a small child. Give me a Cod & Chips all day long, with a side order of Mushy Peas, a Gherkin and a Buttered Roll. OMG, I’m licking my lips as I’m writing this…….
Their menu has everything on it that you’d expect from a chippy. There is fish, sausages, calamari, chicken, pies, jellied eels, a kids menu and so much more.
Being where it is, it is obviously a little dearer than your local chippy, but the quality is worth every penny. The perfect place to treat yourself.
The decor is amazing, filled with so much memorabilia from the owners childhood and it has a 1950’s theme which makes you feel like you’re in an old school diner, or even Arnold’s from Happy Days.

So if you have an office in our Coppergate House Business Centre, are having a meeting there, or even just passing through the area and you feel a bit peckish, I would recommend these five places. Who know’s, we might even bump into each other in one of them!
